Birmingham City Council have announced plans to shut 25 community libraries, leaving just 10 across the city, along with the flagship Library of Birmingham.
This will have a devastating effect on local access to the vital services that libraries provide.
Here are our top 5 actions that you can do today!
- Find your local library on the Save Birmingham site and add your support
- Start a petition to support your local neighbourhood library
- Set up a ‘Friends of’ library group for your local library (or join an existing one)
- Write to your Councillor and your MP, telling them how vital your community library is
- Register your local library building as an ‘Asset of Community Value’*
