Take action now to protect your library

Birmingham City Council have announced plans to shut 25 community libraries, leaving just 10 across the city, along with the flagship Library of Birmingham.

This will have a devastating effect on local access to the vital services that libraries provide.

Here are our top 5 actions that you can do today!

  1. Find your local library on the Save Birmingham site and add your support
  2. Start a petition to support your local neighbourhood library
  3. Set up a ‘Friends of’ library group for your local library (or join an existing one)
  4. Write to your Councillor and your MP, telling them how vital your community library is
  5. Register your local library building as an ‘Asset of Community Value’*
